If your insurance plan requires a referral for you to see us, you are responsible for obtaining a referral authorization from your primary care physician. If we have not received an authorization prior to your arrival at the office, your non-emergent appointment may need to be rescheduled. Top

How will I know if I have a co-payment?
If your insurance contract requires that you pay a co-payment for office services, it will be clearly printed on your insurance card. Some policies require their subscribers only pay a co-payment for office visits. Others require a co-payment for each encounter. Since policies vary widely, please contact your carrier if you have any questions about your co-payment obligation. Top

Why do I need to show my insurance card at each visit?
A patient's insurance plan may change many times so to be sure we have current information, we ask to see your insurance card each time. Inaccurate insurance information can delay payment and may lead to increased medical costs for all patients. Top

Why did it take so long for my insurance to pay?
Insurance billing requires many steps and can take many weeks to complete. We are available for any questions that you may have about your bill. We work with the insurance company to ensure correct claims processing. However, questions about how your insurance provider processed a specific claim should be directed to your insurance company. They can answer questions regarding how your policy and coverage apply to your care. Top

Why does the bill show a balance forward, instead of claim detail?
The first billing is always itemized. Future bills will have the current itemized detail, but the prior billings will show as a balance forward. Please keep all itemized statements for your records. If at a later date you need an itemized detail summary, please call our business office at (757) 223-6600. Top

What if I can't pay my bill in full?
We request that all balances be paid upon receipt, or broken down into three equal monthly payments. If you are unable to do either of these options, a payment plan may be offered. Please contact our business office at (757) 223-6600 for details.
